The music industry and the digital medium

A few days ago, I did some research to better understand how the music industry has changed with the entry of the digital age into the life of our society. They talked about the ways in which phonographic content was distributed - its evolution - and how limited it has been compared to what it is today. In the past, music was essentially consumed through media such as radio or CDs. It is a fact that this area today has an unrivaled ease in terms of distribution, commercialization and, mainly in the promotion.
In addition, the artists' success was limited by having a good contract with a good record label. Profit in a career in music was essentially generated by the sale of albums.
Fortunately for many musicians this has been changing. Social networks have transformed this business in the sense that it has had to adapt to a new "world". Nowadays, there are already artists who have made themselves known in the digital environment, and who can succeed in this area (there are cases like this in our country, which I can eventually talk to later). It is a fact that there are artists and artists and that tastes do not argue ... It is not that linear and I do not mean to say that today this industry is an easy medium in terms of market. At all! What I want to say is that there are currently new promotion tools that make it easier for people to enter this medium, although unfortunately, being good is not always enough. You have to be good and please the public.

I leave you with a short video that tells us about how the streaming services we have available these days have changed the music industry, and how important it has become, in a way, for artists to be aware of their social networks. This subject in the eyes of a band - The Orwells.
